Claire Waysand

Claire Waysand has spent most of her career with the French government. In particular, she served as Chief of Staff to Michel Sapin, Minister for Finance and Public Accounts. As such, she was responsible for coordinating all of the Minister's work, including the Sapin II bill. Prior to that, she served as Deputy Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault, and Deputy Director of the Treasury. Claire Waysand is highly experienced in European affairs: she was the French representative on the European Economic and Finance Committee and on the board of the European Investment Bank. She has worked at the International Monetary Fund and has a broader international experience, both on advanced and emerging economies. Claire Waysand joined the Engie Group in October 2019. As Engie’s General Secretary, she brings her in-depth knowledge of French, European and international economic and financial issues to contribute to the Group's strategy.
