Christine Taylor Brew has held a number of positions in the biotechnology industry since 2001. In 2001, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of California Berkeley. From 2006 to 2015, they were a Scientist, Sr. Scientist I, Sr. Scientist II, and Associate Director of Research Biology at Nektar Therapeutics. During their time there, they demonstrated the ability to lead preclinical teams, drove strategic decisions, and invented and championed multiple unique product opportunities. From 2015 to 2018, they were a Director and Executive Director of Research Biology at Relypsa. During their time there, they led a cross-functional team to identify two new programs for the Research pipeline, was a project team lead for a primary Research program in GI disease, and was a functional leader of a newly built out in vitro biology group. In 2018, they became the Executive Director at Engine Biosciences.
Christine Taylor Brew began their educational journey in 1990 when they attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and earned a B.S. in Chemistry. Christine Taylor then went on to Cornell University where they earned a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular, Cell Biology in 2001. Afterwards, they completed a postdoc at the University of California, Berkeley in 2005.
