Faisal Shawwa

Faisal Shawwa has over 25 years of experience in finance and accounting roles. Faisal currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Finance at CARGO Therapeutics, where they are leading the development of CAR T-cell therapies for cancer treatment. Prior to this, Faisal worked as the Chief Financial Officer at Engine Room, providing financial support and strategic guidance to life science and tech start-ups. Faisal also held the position of Senior Vice President of Finance & Administration at Tranquis Therapeutics, Inc. Faisal has extensive experience in the biotech industry, previously serving as the Vice President of Finance & Principal Compliance Officer at Catalyst Biosciences. Faisal has also provided CFO advisory services for Actym Therapeutics, Inc. Faisal's earlier experience includes roles as the Corporate Controller and Principal Accounting Officer at Preferred Financial Group, Inc., where they managed accounting and finance operations, and as the Head of Finance and Accounting at Provident Funding Associates L.P., overseeing a large mortgage servicing portfolio.

Faisal Shawwa, MBA, has completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a concentration in Finance, General from Notre Dame University Graduate School of Business. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Finance from Notre Dame de Namur University. Additionally, Faisal also holds a Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt) from Purdue University, which they obtained in March 2012.
