Damineh Akhavan

Damineh Akhavan is a highly accomplished professional with extensive experience in the aerospace and engineering sectors. As the Founder and CEO of Global Women In STEM Inc. since July 2021, Damineh has been dedicated to promoting gender equity in science and technology. Currently serving as a Senior Engineer at De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited and Viking Air Limited, Damineh holds multiple designations, including Professional Engineer and Transport Canada Designated Engineer. Damineh's expertise encompasses aircraft structures, mentorship, and leadership roles within various committees, including the Airworthiness Control System Board. Damineh's commitment to community service is demonstrated through active participation on boards, contributing to women’s advocacy events, and engaging with educational initiatives aimed at inspiring the next generation of leaders in engineering and technology. Academically, Damineh holds an MBA in International Business and multiple engineering degrees from the University of Victoria.
