Michael Phipps has extensive experience in the medical device industry. Michael began their career in 2000 as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op at Stryker Orthopaedics. In 2004, they were promoted to Project Engineer and was responsible for the design, testing, and manufacturing of the Scorpio NRG PS and CR tibial bearing and femoral components. In 2006, they joined Nexa Orthopedics as a Project Engineer and was then acquired by Tornier in February 2007. At Tornier, they were the Lead Engineer in the Design & Development of a Universal Total Shoulder System. In 2009, they joined EnHatch Orthopaedics as the Director of Operations and was responsible for managing all operations, design, and regulatory functions. Michael also obtained 510k approval on an in-house developed Humeral Fracture Plate. In 2012, they became a Cofounder and CTO of Enhatch, a technology company focused on streamlining and scaling the design and delivery of patient-specific medical devices. Michael was also responsible for developing new products from feasibility to prototype, through validation and market introductions. In 2020, they joined Dreamit Ventures as an Entrepreneur in the Healthtech Spring 2020 program.
Michael Phipps obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology between 1999 and 2004. Michael also has obtained several certifications from Coursera, including Data Analysis with Python, Data Visualization with Python, Machine Learning, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Python for Data Science and AI.
