Néstor Vázquez Bernat

Néstor Vázquez Bernat has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Néstor currently works at ENPICOM BV, where they serve as the Team Lead Application Science. In this role, they lead the Application Science team, manages resources, and is involved in hiring. Néstor also implements OKR at the team level to align with company goals and provides guidance on long-term strategy and goals within the leadership team. Prior to this, Néstor worked as an Application Scientist at ENPICOM BV, where they focused on understanding clients' needs and matching them to the company's services. Néstor also played a role in developing sales processes and external partnership projects. Additionally, they worked with the product management team to improve the company's Platform solution by providing feedback and testing implementations.

Previously, Néstor served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Karolinska Institutet, where their work involved analyzing and visualizing immune repertoires (BCR) samples using Python, R, and bash. Néstor also contributed to scientific publications by writing and designing figures and plots using Adobe Illustrator and Inkscape. Before this, they worked as a PHD Candidate at the same institution, focusing on studying immune responses and B cell genetic diversity. Néstor'sresponsibilities included developing library production methods and bioinformatical analysis tools, conducting cDNA synthesis and PCR, performing next-generation sequencing and Sanger sequencing, and analyzing and representing the data using Python3, Bash, Excel, and GraphPad Prism. Néstor also created data visualizations for publication using Illustrator and Inkscape during this time. Néstor began their research career at Karolinska Institutet as a Research Assistant.

Néstor started their career as an Intern at Sanofi Pasteur, where they worked in the Discovery/Formulation department. Néstor'stasks involved testing and developing new nanoparticle-based formulations for vaccine adjuvants, including nanoparticle stabilization and characterization, development of new testing methodology, and preparation and analysis of pre-clinical study samples.

Prior to their research positions, Néstor gained industry experience as an Intern at IQS Barcelona. Here, they conducted testing and characterization of polymers and other compounds to assess quality and functionality using various techniques such as density, TGA, DSC, tensile testing, rheometry, SEM image analysis, HPLC, and IR.

Throughout their career, Néstor has gained experience in scientific research, data analysis, project management, team leadership, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

Néstor Vázquez Bernat began their education in 2007 at IQS Barcelona, where they obtained a Licenciate in Chemistry with a focus on Analytical Chemistry in 2012. In 2011, they spent a year at CPE Lyon as part of their degree in chemistry, specializing in Life Sciences (Biochemistry). Néstor then pursued a Masters Degree in Biomedicine at the Universitat de Barcelona from 2013 to 2014. Néstor Vázquez Bernat furthered their education at Karolinska Institutet, where they obtained a PhD in Medical Sciences from 2015 to 2019.

Néstor also has several additional certifications, including a Certificate in Advanced English from Cambridge Assessment English in 2011. In 2013, they completed the "Writing in the Sciences" program with distinction from Stanford online - School of Medicine. Néstor Vázquez Bernat also obtained a Research Technician on Animals (Category B) certification from the Departament d'Agricultura, Ramaderia, Pesca, Alimentació i Medi Natural in 2014. Most recently, in 2021, they completed the Commercial Skills Training "From Contact to Contract" at ENPICOM BV.
