Sean Cotterill

Sean Cotterill has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in software engineering, consulting, and creative arts. Sean recently worked as a Consultant - Front End at Ensono Digital. Prior to that, they were a Software Engineer at Bourne Leisure Ltd, where they built and maintained front ends using TypeScript, Next.js, Redux, and React Hooks. Sean also had experience with Express JS. Additionally, Sean worked remotely as a Lead Full Stack Developer and Frontend Engineer at Inflowmatix Limited, and as a Software Engineer at Bede Gaming Ltd, specializing in the React ecosystem. Before transitioning into the tech industry, they worked as a Computational Artist, delivering projects and performances for clients worldwide. Sean gained experience in various technology and programming platforms, collaborating with diverse groups of practitioners, and communicating technical concepts to different audiences. Sean also lectured and led workshops as a Guest Lecturer & Personal Tutor at Newcastle University, covering topics such as live coding music and digital art. Furthermore, they served as a Musical Director for the theatre company State of Grace, overseeing the composition and performance of music for their shows.

Sean Cotterill has a strong educational background in the field of computational art. Sean completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Music at Newcastle University from 2012 to 2015. Building upon this foundation, Sean pursued a Master of Arts degree in Creative Arts Practice with a specialization in Computational Art from 2015 to 2016. Recognizing the importance of further specialization and expertise in their field, they then completed a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computational Art from Newcastle University, spanning from 2016 to 2018.
