James A. O'Neill, Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology industry. James A. started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University in the City of New York from 1986 to 1988. James A. then joined IBM Microelectronics Division in 1988, where they held various management and research positions until 2004. During this time, they established a research lab and developed strategic partnerships for joint development projects. From 2004 to 2007, they served as the Senior Manager of the Microelectronics Research Laboratory, overseeing advanced logic, memory, packaging, and physical sciences programs. James A. later became the Director of Advanced Technology Development and led the 14nm CMOS technology development for IBM and its partners from 2010 to 2012. Following their time at IBM, they joined Entegris as the Senior Vice President of Electronic Materials in 2012, where they were responsible for managing the overall innovation process and maximizing return on corporate R&D investment. In 2014, they took on the role of SVP & Chief Technology Officer at Entegris, where they oversaw the strategy and execution of the new product development portfolio.
James A. O'Neill, Ph.D. earned their Ph.D. in Chemistry from Columbia University, where they studied from 1982 to 1986. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Yale University, where they attended from 1978 to 1982. James A. completed their high school education at Montgomery Bell Academy, receiving a High School Diploma in 1978.
