Elliot Cohen has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Elliot started their career as a Life Cycle Analysis Graduate Intern at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in 2009. Elliot then worked as a Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Colorado Denver from 2009 to 2014.

In 2012, Elliot served as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar to India, working with the United States-India Educational Foundation. Elliot also briefly worked as a Data Analytics Specialist at UNIDO in 2014.

From 2014 to 2015, Elliot held positions as a Post-Doctoral Research Scientist at the Sustainable Engineering Lab at Columbia University and as a Lecturer in the Department of Statistics at Columbia University.

In 2015, Elliot joined Tendril, an Energy Technology Startup, as a Data Scientist, where they developed energy intelligence software and conducted randomized controlled trials for energy efficiency programs.

From 2017 to 2018, Elliot worked as a Data Science Instructor at Galvanize Inc, where they developed and delivered data science curriculum and advised real-world data science projects.

In 2018, Elliot joined Kapost as a Principal Data Scientist and Director of Data Science. Elliot implemented Natural Language Processing and Spark ETL infrastructure and provided guidance on business strategy and product roadmaps.

Since 2019, Elliot has been working at Entelligent, initially as the Head of Data Science and currently as the Vice President for Research and Development. In this role, they oversee data science, climate science, and financial engineering initiatives, collaborating with major banks, pension funds, and other clients to build equity strategies that minimize climate transition risk.

Elliot Cohen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 2004-2009. Elliot then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado Denver, completing it in 2009-2011. Elliot continued their education at the University of Colorado Denver, obtaining a PhD in Environmental Engineering from 2009 to 2014.

Additionally, Elliot acquired several certifications outside of their formal education. In 2010, they completed a graduate program at the Patagonia Mountaineering School. The following year, in 2011, they obtained the Swiftwater Rescue Technician Level 1 certification from Rescue 3 International. In 2012, Elliot earned the Whitewater River Captain certification from the Utah Department of Natural Resources. Lastly, in 2014, they obtained the Wilderness First Responder certification from NOLS Wilderness Medicine, and in 2010, they earned the Avalanche Rescue Level 1 certification from the American Avalanche Association Standards.
