Jim Cunningham

Jim Cunningham serves as Senior Counsel at Entergy, specializing in Federal Energy Regulatory Affairs within the Legal Department since January 2021. In this role, Jim advises various Entergy Operating Companies on compliance with the Federal Power Act and the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act, drafts regulatory pleadings for submission to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and represents the companies in evidentiary hearings and settlement negotiations. Prior to this, Jim worked as an Attorney-Adviser at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, focusing on electric transmission rates and market design. Additional experience includes serving as an Associate Attorney at Harris Beach PLLC, where Jim provided counsel on regulatory compliance in the energy sector, and as a Research Associate at the Institute for Energy and the Environment. Jim holds a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Villanova University.
