Vivian (Wei) Liu

Vivian (Wei) Liu is a highly experienced scientist with a diverse range of roles and responsibilities. Vivian (Wei) started their career as a Lecturer at Southern Medical University from July 2006 to August 2011. Vivian (Wei) then became a Lecturer at Jinan Biomedical Research and Development Center from January 2012 to April 2014, where they managed R&D teams and coordinated internal processes for product development. From June 2014 to April 2018, Vivian worked as a Nutrition Consultant at SALIA.

In April 2018, they joined Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. as a Research Scientist, contributing to PK/PD aspects and strategies supporting preclinical development. At Ionis Pharmaceuticals, Vivian gained experience in dosing ASOs in rats and mice, collecting blood and tissue samples for PK/PD studies, as well as performing mouse liver perfusion and primary murine hepatocyte isolation.

From January 2013 to April 2014, Vivian worked as an Associate Research Fellow at Jinan University, where they set up and maintained cell culture labs and grew various cell lines. Vivian (Wei) then transitioned to a role as an Interpreter at Escondido Union School District from December 2017 to October 2019.

In September 2019, Vivian joined Takeda as a Scientist II, where they worked with DMPK project representatives for early discovery projects and gained hands-on experience with cell culture work and drug transporters related issues.

From April 2020 to December 2021, Vivian worked as a Senior Scientist (Study Director) at Corning Incorporated, leading a team and conducting in-vitro drug induction studies, including cytochrome P450 induction studies, in compliance with FDA and EMA regulations.

In January 2022, Vivian joined Axcella as a Senior Scientist, providing hands-on support in the execution of DMPK and non-clinical safety studies. Vivian (Wei) also led operational aspects of study execution and collaborated with internal experts on protocol development, study monitoring, data analysis, and report writing.

Most recently, in February 2023, Vivian started working as a Senior Scientist II at Entrada Therapeutics.

Vivian (Wei) Liu began their education at Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from 1998 to 2002. Vivian (Wei) then pursued a Master's degree in nueropharmacology at Jinan University from 2003 to 2006. Following this, they attended Southern Medical University from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmaceutical science.
