Matt Seymour has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Matt started their career in 2008 as a K6 Design intern, where they designed and developed a vending machine telemetry system. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Software Developer at Beachcroft LLP, focusing on client-facing extranet systems and web application development. In 2011, they served as a Backend Web Developer at The Mystery Dining Company, redesigning the administration system. Later that year, they joined IPL as a Software Engineer, managing developers and implementing best practices for web application development. In 2012, they worked at Actual Experience as a Software Engineer, building a cross-platform Python application for network analytics. Matt was eventually promoted to the role of Software Engineer - Team Lead. In 2017, Matt became the Head of Software Development at Verisk Maplecroft, providing technical direction, managing teams, and overseeing project planning. Currently, they are employed at Envelop Risk as a Senior Software Engineer and Engineering Manager - SRE, contributing to AI-enabled modeling and simulation tools for cyber risk analysis.
Matt Seymour has a diverse education history that spans over several years. Matt began their educational journey at Wellsway School from 1998 to 2004, where they pursued their GCSEs in Mathematics, English, and Science. Following this, they attended Bath College from 2004 to 2006, where they obtained a BTEC degree in ICT System Support. Finally, Matt attended the University of Exeter from 2006 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
