Andy Wilson has extensive work experience in the field of environmental science and natural resource planning. Andy is currently working as a GIS Analyst at Environmental Science Associates since October 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Natural Resource Planner at PC Trask and Associates from October 2019 to October 2022.
Andy also has experience as a GIS Technician at the Institute for Natural Resources/ Institute for Water and Watersheds from March 2019 to September 2019.
Earlier in their career, Andy served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at Oregon State University from September 2016 to August 2018. In these roles, they conducted research on the influence of snowpack on post-wildfire regrowth in Pacific Northwest forests using remotely sensed data. Andy also led and organized snow survey campaigns and maintained weather stations for this study.
Additionally, they worked as a Marine Mammal Monitor/Field Work Aide at Northwest Environmental Consulting from January 2016 to April 2016.
Andy gained valuable experience as a GIS Intern at Southern Environmental Law Center from May 2013 to April 2014. In this role, they collaborated with the GIS analyst on various environmental cases, including determining critical habitat zones for loggerhead turtles and analyzing the impact of hydraulic fracturing.
Andy'searliest work experience was as a Student Intern at the University of Cambridge in July and August 2012.
Andy Wilson pursued their education at Oregon State University from 2016 to 2018, where they received a Master of Science (MS) degree in Geography. Prior to that, they attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2010 to 2014, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Environmental Science. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics during their time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
