Darren Newman has over two decades of experience in the field of wildlife and environmental science. Darren began their career as a Wildlife Biologist at CSU Stanislaus ~ Endangered Species Recovery Program in 1999, where they focused on endangered species recovery and conservation planning.
In 2006, they joined H. T. Harvey & Associates as a Wildlife Ecologist 2, gaining expertise in the management of special-status and listed species in California.
In 2013, Darren founded their own consulting firm, D. Newman Wildlife Consulting LLC, where they provided consulting services for listed and sensitive species, specializing in vernal pool, reptile, amphibian, and small mammal species.
Currently, Darren is working as a Senior Biologist IV at Environmental Science Associates, a renowned environmental science and planning firm. In this role, they utilize their extensive experience to guide project planning, environmental analysis, and regulatory compliance across various locations in the United States.

Darren Newman received their Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Biology from California State University, Fresno. Darren attended the university from 1987 to 1992. In addition, they obtained a certification in 40-hour HAZWOPR 29 CFR 1910.120(e) from Compliance Solutions Occupational Trainers, Inc. in March 2010. Darren also received a certification as a Conservation Canine Handler from Packleader Specialty Detector Dogs, although the specific month and year of obtaining this certification are not provided.
