Mark Roberts

Mark Roberts is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in leadership and auditing within the public sector. Currently serving as Chief Executive at Environmental Standards Scotland since June 2022, Mark previously held the position of Audit Director at Audit Scotland from January 2010 to May 2022. Before that, Mark contributed as a Senior Assistant Clerk at The Scottish Parliament between April 2004 and December 2009, and served as PFMR Implementation Manager at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency from June 2001 to March 2004. Earlier in the career, Mark worked with the Natural Environment Research Council as Clerk to Council and Marine Sciences Peer Review Committee Secretary from November 1998 to May 2001. Mark Roberts holds a Master of Business Administration from The University of Edinburgh, a Doctor of Philosophy in Geochemistry and Climate Change from the University of Bristol, and a Master of Arts in Geography from the University of Cambridge.
