Greg Zimmerman

Greg Zimmerman is Vice President of EnviroScience, Inc., where he coordinates major projects and company-wide initiatives. Greg manages the Marine Services Group, which includes a team of 10 full-time commercial and scientific diving staff. Greg has been with EnviroScience since 1996 and specializes in the fields of aquatic survey, diving, and freshwater mussel identification. He is an approved USFWS freshwater mussel surveyor and has worked extensively with over 90 species throughout the U.S., including seven federally-listed and numerous state-listed species. Greg has designed and managed some of the largest Endangered Species Act and biological monitoring survey projects completed to date in North America. Additionally, he has completed eleven Biological Assessments for transportation-related projects, and he has assisted numerous other clients with projects where aquatic impacts were anticipated. Greg received a master’s degree from Kent State University in GIS / Biology and an undergraduate degree from Hiram College. He has created GIS environments for a wide range of applications, including wetlands, larval fish migration, 316a and 316b, benthic habitat, depth surveys, and natural resource inventories. Greg has over 16 years of diving experience, including surface-supplied and hardhat diving, and he maintains a number of specialty dive certifications. He is an active member of the Freshwater Mollusk Conservation Society (where he is Secretary and serves on the Techniques and Guidelines Committee), the Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI), and the Ohio River Valley Ecosystem Mollusk Group. Greg was also an adjunct faculty member at Hiram College where he taught an upper-level course in biomonitoring.
