The Director of Accounting will oversee accounting staff who perform a variety of accounting and payroll tasks to facilitate the efficient operation of the firm.

• Trains staff regarding accounting duties.
• Supervises and counsels accounting staff.
Duties / Responsibilities:
• Manages the day-to-day operations of the accounting process.
• Maintains a professional and positive work environment by facilitating
effective communication and information sharing among accounting staff.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with vendors regarding
invoices and payments.
• Communicates effectively and professionally with clients regarding trust
account refunds.
• Prepares daily bank balance reconciliation of Washington and California
general bank accounts.
• Prepares daily bill pay recommendations to firm partners based on cash
flow and payables due.
• Performs monthly bank statement reconciliation.
• Performs bi-monthly trust transfers after billing is complete.
• Participates in strategic planning process with management to identify
and accomplish short- and long-term organizational goals.
• Consults and coordinates with firm Administration staff as needed
regarding accounts payable needs, setting up online accounts for online
bill pay, mailing vendor payments and client trust refunds and various
related items.
• Facilitates and delegates accounting functions as needed. These may
include client trust fund refunds, bill paying, preparation of financial
statements, management of reports and collections.
• Consults with outside accountants for audits, preparation of tax returns
and the production of other reports as required by law.
• Assists with human resource management as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
