Claire Murchie

Claire Murchie is the current President at Envision Technology Partners. Claire has held various positions at First Data Corporation from April 2007 to November 2010, most notably Senior Vice President of Shared Services Technology. During their time at First Data Corporation, they were responsible for leading the efforts to streamline and simplify the HR IT systems, payroll operations, HR service delivery and call center operations, relocation, and HR reporting teams. AfterFirst Data was acquired by KKR, a private equity firm, their organization successfully reduced the company's headcount by 2300 people. Efforts led to the plan to outsource the domestic HR operations team to ADP and Hewitt and the international HR operations team to one provider. However, due to financial constraints and competing business priorities, this plan was postponed and other less expensive projects were undertaken to streamline and revamp their HR business processes.

In June 2009, they transferred to the IT organization to lead the efforts to re-vamp the Shared Services IT organization. With the downturn in the economy, it was necessary to reduce costs by 20% by reducing headcount and contractor spend. Through careful client negotiations and prioritization of work, the impact of these reductions was minimized and service levels improved. In November 2009, they led the efforts to transition First Data and Bank of America employees to the Bank of America Merchant Services joint venture effective January 2010. With the culimination of that effort, their focus shifted to identifying and reducing $100 million in international operations and technology spend.

In May 2010, they were asked to lead the efforts to reduce global operating expenses in the business over the next 18 months by $150 million and increase European EBITDA margin to from 23 to 32%. Assignment was overseas and is a direct result of their success in identifying and reducing international operations and technology spend earlier this year by $35 million. Assignment ended once the cost cutting and business divestiture measures were successfully identified and presented to the incoming CEO, Jon Judge.
