Mike Portland has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Mike started their career in the US Navy, serving for 22 years as a Submarine Officer, including commanding a SSN at sea and gaining experience in Navy staff and Joint Staff roles. After leaving the Navy, they worked as the Vice President of Pipeline Micro, overseeing the startup's operations in North America and managing microchannel research in Singapore. Mike then joined JRC Integrated Systems as the Vice President of Special Programs, where they successfully expanded the company's revenues and oversaw various operational aspects. Following this, they became the President of R&M Technology Solutions, providing research and development program management and technical services to government customers. Since 2019, Mike has been working at Envisioneering, first as the Chief Operating Officer and currently as the President and COO, responsible for day-to-day operations and customer support, specializing in Navy Research & Development and Electronic Warfare services.
Mike Portland pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Mike attended the university from 1983 to 1987. Before that, in 1982, they briefly studied Engineering at Tulane University, although there is no information regarding a degree obtained. Later, from 1992 to 1994, Mike pursued further education at the University of Washington - Michael G. Foster School of Business. Mike obtained an MBA degree with a focus on Finance and Accounting, as well as a Master of Professional Accounting degree with a specialization in Auditing.
