Mason Deraad

Mason DeRaad is a dedicated professional currently serving as a Student Office Assistant at the Office of Research and Innovation and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Office of Government Relations at Western Michigan University since January 2023. Mason has extensive leadership experience within the Western Student Association, having held positions as Chief of Finance and Student Body Vice President, where responsibilities included managing budgets, overseeing the distribution of funds, and leading initiatives to enhance public safety and support for student organizations. Mason also served as Executive Officer for Government Affairs and Associate Justice, contributing to community development and constitutional interpretations. Additionally, Mason has experience as a Donor Services Team Member at Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Applied Economics and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, both from Western Michigan University.
