Sidney Fooshee has a diverse work experience, with various roles in different organizations. Starting in 2006, they served as the Department Head at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute (NAMI), where they managed a data management and analysis department. During this time, they directed the revision of the Navy's Aviation Selection Test, resulting in significant cost savings and reduced attrition rates.
From 2008 to 2011, Fooshee worked at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) as the Director of Operations and Assistant Director of Operations. Sidney led various strategic initiatives and performed budget oversight for a Research & Engineering Department with a large staff. Fooshee also reformed the department's strategic plan and implemented a comprehensive process for tracking personnel, financials, and facilities.
Fooshee then joined the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) from 2011 to 2014, serving as the Deputy Director and Acting Emergency Management Officer. In this role, they led operations, coordinated strategic initiatives, and managed a $1.0 billion Research & Engineering Department. Sidney also focused on building collaborative opportunities between academia, industry, and government.
From 2014 to 2016, Fooshee served as the Science Advisor for Training & Standardization at the Chief of Naval Air Training (CNATRA). Following that, they worked as the Associate Director for Human Systems in the Human Performance, Training, and BioSystems Directorate at the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering.
In 2019, Fooshee joined the Energetic Technology Center as the NavalX Central Florida Tech Bridge Coordinator. In this role, they developed a strategic plan for the Central Florida Tech Bridge, facilitating rapid transition to virtual events during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sidney also organized various monthly events and engaged with numerous businesses to guide them on doing business with the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division.
Fooshee's most recent work experience is with Epigen Technology, where they worked as a Team Lead from January to August 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Chief of Staff at Epigen.
Sidney Fooshee has a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from The University of Southern Mississippi. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Xavier University. Sidney also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from the University of Kentucky. In 2015 to 2016, they earned a Certificate in Healthcare Modeling and Simulation from the Naval Postgraduate School. Sidney also has a Certificate from the U.S. Naval War College, specifically from the College of Distance Education Command and Staff Program. Additionally, Sidney holds certifications as a Defense Acquisition Corps Member and as an Engineering Level III (formerly Systems Engineering) from the Defense Acquisition Corps.
