Rev'd Canon Johnnie Ross currently serves as Canon to the Ordinary for the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester since August 2016. Previously, Johnnie held the role of Rector at St. Raphael's Episcopal Church from September 2008 to August 2016 and at Saint James Episcopal Church from May 1995 to June 2012. Additionally, Johnnie worked with the Episcopal Diocese of Lexington as Canon to the Ordinary and Canon Missioner between May 2001 and September 2008. Earlier in career, Johnnie was an Environmental Scientist with the Commonwealth of Kentucky, focusing on National Environmental Policy Act compliance, and experienced in preparing Environmental Impact Statements and Assessments from October 1980 to June 2001. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts in Wildlife Biology & Resource Management from Berea College and advanced theological degrees including a Master of Theology and Ph.D. (ABD) in Theology.
