Thomas Knittel

After finishing his medical studies Prof. Knittel worked for more than 10 years in the Departments of Internal Medicine at the University of Mainz and Göttingen, joined the pharmaceutical industry in 1999 and held a wide range of positions in research and development, medical affairs and marketing & sales.

Prof. Knittel has spent the last 10 years at senior executive positions in several biotech companies and works currently as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for InDex Pharmaceuticals, Stockholm and as a board member of Heparegenix, Tübingen.

Formerly he held positions as Business Unit Director at Novo Nordisk for Central Europe, as General Manager Pharmaceuticals at Harlan Laboratories and as Vice President Corporate and Medical Affairs at Develogen AG.

Prof. Knittel is a board certified physician with a specialist training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He holds an associate professorship at the University of Göttingen (Germany) and a MBA from the executive programme of Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (US) / WHU Koblenz (Germany).
