Sven Schmit

Sven Schmit has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. In 2009, they were the Treasurer of Lustrum Committee at VESTING and held teaching positions at the University of Groningen and Stanford University. In 2013, they were a Research Associate Intern at Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, where they researched algorithms for exascale computing and published in the International Journal of High Performance Computing Applications. From 2014 to 2018, they worked at Stitch Fix, starting as an Algorithm Design Intern, then becoming a Data Scientist and finally a Data Science Manager. Currently, they are the Head of Statistics Engineering at Eppo, where they focus on creating an intuitive and statistically rigorous experimentation platform for the modern data stack.

Sven Schmit obtained their BSc in Econometrics and Operations Research from the University of Groningen in 2011. Sven then went on to pursue a MASt in Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, which they completed in 2012. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computational and Mathematical Engineering from Stanford University in 2018.
