Joe Porrovecchio has had a diverse work experience in various industries. Joe started their career as Director of Project Management at Dames & Moore, overseeing government projects. Joe then worked as a Regional Director at Shaw Environmental, managing ports and waterways projects. Later, they served as a Capital Programs Project Manager and Sustainability Coordinator at Ramapo College of New Jersey. Joe has also held positions such as Vice President and General Manager at EPS Corporation, Principal Consultant at Carbon-Key LLC, and Senior Consulting Scientist at Sub to SC&A Inc. Additionally, they have been involved in various professional organizations, including the Society of American Military Engineers and the Association of Energy Engineers.
Joe Porrovecchio has a diverse education history. In 1981, they attended the US Army Command and General Staff College, where they subsequently instructed the non-resident program until 1985. Joe obtained a degree in CGSOC, focusing on joint, interagency, intergovernmental, and multinational studies. Prior to that, from 1973 to 1976, they pursued a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering at The City College of New York. In 1969, they attended Fordham University and received a commission as 2LT in the US Army. Joe Porrovecchio also holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Iona University, which they obtained from 1967 to 1971. Joe has additional certifications, including LEED ACCREDITED PROFESSIONAL with a Building Design + Construction Specialty from the Green Building Certification Institute in 2010 and a certification as a Certified Carbon Reduction Manager from the Association of Energy Engineers.
