Liz Leakey has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies. Liz began their career in 2000 as an Interactive Designer at BBC Children's Interactive and later progressed to become the Design Team Leader. During this time, they managed a team and oversaw design output for CBBC and CBeebies projects, including the launch of the BBC Children's portal.
In 2006, Liz founded their own company, Lineman Ltd, where they worked with various clients, including small businesses, non-profit organizations, the public sector, and the University of London. Liz collaborated with clients to establish website objectives, budget, timescales, and long-term aims.
Liz joined Equal Experts in 2018 and took on multiple roles. Liz worked as a User Experience Consultant, providing design sprint methods and pitching materials for new business opportunities. Liz also served as Head of Design at Sky Betting & Gaming, leading the UX and design team to improve ways of working, increase UX research, and develop a design system and pattern library.
In their current role as Head of Design at Equal Experts, Liz is a member of the leadership team. Liz supports clients and teams in understanding business problems and shaping the services provided. Liz specializes in service design, user research, product leadership, content design, and UX/UI design. Some of their recent projects include working with Waitrose & Partners, the Department of Health and Social Care, and Pret A Manger.
Prior to Equal Experts, Liz worked as a UX Design Manager at The Very Group, where they led UX and design work and collaborated with various departments to improve the customer experience on Very.

Liz Leakey began their education in 1989 at Charlton School in Telford, where they completed their GCSE studies in 1993 with a focus on 10 subjects. Following this, they attended New College in Telford from 1993 to 1995, where they pursued A' Levels in Design & Technology, Art & Design, and History. In 1995, Liz enrolled in Winchester School of Art for a year, completing a Foundation Art degree. Liz then went on to attend the University of Portsmouth from 1996 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Design.
