Jesse Perrin LaVancher has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. In 2009, Jesse served as the Chief Operating Officer for Jitterzz Koffee LLC, where they established and managed a successful coffee shop. From 2010 to 2014, Jesse took on the roles of CEO and COO for 2113 Bistro, overseeing the pre-opening stages of the restaurant and managing its development.
In 2011, Jesse worked in project management for Broken Gate Workshop, specializing in reclaimed materials. From 2013 to 2018, Jesse owned Perrin & Church Landholdings LLC, and also served as the Co-Owner of Umbrella Management Group from 2010 to 2018.
In 2014, Jesse joined the Virginia Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce VGLCC as the Chief Operating Officer. They held this position until December 2018.
During their time at Virginia Opera Association from 2014 to 2015, Jesse held multiple roles including Regional Director of Sales, Director of Communications, and Office Manager. They managed marketing and communications activities and oversaw the operations of the annual Opera in the Park event.
From 2015 to 2020, Jesse was a Co-Founder and CMO of Equality Rewards, a LGBTQ+ multimedia/marketing company. They also co-founded equalityMD in 2020, where they currently serve as the Co-Founder and CMO. The company focuses on connecting the LGBTQ+ community with culturally competent mental health providers through a matching algorithm.
Since 2014, Jesse has also been the President of Equality First Foundation, an organization that focuses on promoting equality.
Jesse Perrin LaVancher has a diverse education history spanning various fields. In 1989, they attended the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services DHSES to study Fire Science/Fire-fighting. Following that, in 1992, they enrolled in the New York State Department of Health Bureau of EMS to pursue a degree in Emergency Medical Technology/Technician (EMT Paramedic). In 1994, Jesse attended SUNY Brockport, where they focused on Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Administration. Finally, in 1998, they attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, where they studied Performing Arts.
In addition to their formal education, Jesse Perrin LaVancher has obtained several additional certifications. In October 2020, they became an Ordained Minister through the Universal Life Church. In August 2019, they completed a Startup Accelerator program at Unstuck Labs, as well as another Startup Accelerator program at Lighthouse Labs RVA. In July 2019, they obtained a Startup School certification from Y Combinator. Lastly, in October 2016, they received a Leadership Certificate from Leadership Metro Richmond.
