Christine Marchal has extensive work experience in the field of Human Resources and Management. Christine is currently serving as the Chief Human Resources, Communications, and Transformation Officer at EQUANS BeLux since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked at ENGIE from 2016 to 2022, initially as the Chief Human Resources Officer BU Benelux/HRD ENGIE Electrabel, where they managed a workforce of 20,000 employees across various technical and non-technical sectors. Their responsibilities included organization and change management, HR transformation/digitalization, social relations, reward management, talent management, and HR information management. Before that, they were the HR Director at ENGIE Fabricom Belgium from 2014 to 2015, where they shaped the HR function and team while overseeing HR operations, organization and change management, social relations, reward management, and talent management for a workforce of 6,000 employees. From 2012 to 2014, they served as the HR Director, Energy Management Trading at ENGIE, where they established a new HR organization covering multiple countries and was responsible for HR partnership, compensation and benefits, talent and change management for a global workforce of 1,300 highly skilled employees. Prior to ENGIE, they held positions as HR Director at GDF SUEZ Trading from 2010 to 2011 and HR Manager, HR Business Partner, and Manager Customer Support for the B2B Segment at Electrabel from 2001 to 2010. Christine Marchal began their career as a Trader and later worked as a Sales Manager at TOTAL from 1995 to 2001.
Christine Marchal obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management with a specialization in General Business from the University of Liège, where they attended from 1992 to 1994. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Commercial Engineering from HEC, between 1987 and 1992.
