Monte Block

Monte is a staffing legend and pioneer. He is proud to be celebrating his 44th year in the contract staffing business. Monte is the founder and CEO of Rotator and Medical Services Inc. He also serves as a Senior Executive of Industrial Staffing Services Inc. and Block Staffing LLC—all of which are members of the Staffing the Universe family of companies. Under his leadership, Staffing the Universe helped put more than 10,000 employees to work in 2018.

Writing his master’s thesis on the contact staffing industry, Monte graduated from Pace University in 1981 with an MBA. He began his career at Volt Information Sciences, under the tutelage and training of his iconic industry father, Jerry Block. Monte brings a wealth of expertise to Staffing the Universe, which includes VMS/MSP programs, large-scale enterprise workforce solutions, intimate knowledge of niche programs for government and utilities, organizations of all sizes and scales, and the leading best practices in modern employment solutions.

As Co-CEO, Monte helps structure programs to meet financial needs, establish safe and productive work environments, and drive employee performance and efficiency. Additionally, Monte shares his legal, regulatory, and business resolution knowledge with clients as one of the industry’s premier thought leaders, assisting them with contracts and rigorous compliance standards.

Monte is a well-known workforce solutions expert, having been named to Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of 100 Most Influential Leaders in the Industry for four years in a row. He is regularly tapped by industry associations and businesses to share his insights and best practices. In addition to his work at Staffing the Universe, Monte is committed to bettering the communities he serves. He frequently assist military veterans and engages in relief programs to help workers displaced by national tragedies.
