Leonardo Cruz

Leonardo Cruz is a highly experienced professional in geomechanics and well research, currently serving as a Principal Engineer at Equinor since May 2018. Prior to this role, Leonardo held multiple positions at Baker Hughes from May 2011 to May 2018, including Technical Director and Senior Geomechanics Consultant, where significant contributions were made to reservoir stimulation software development and geomechanical project work. Leonardo's academic background includes a postdoctoral position in Tectonic Geomorphology at Stanford University, where courses in Global Tectonics were taught, as well as a Ph.D. in Structural Geology from the University of Minnesota. Additional experience includes roles at GeoMechanics International Inc and PDVSA, with expertise in innovative solutions, numerical modeling, and consulting in geomechanics.
