Beau van Kirk

Beau Van Kirk is an experienced engineer specializing in grid applications development, currently serving as Lead Engineer at ERCOT since June 2014. Beau has a robust background in supporting real-time operations and maintaining critical energy management and market management systems, with expertise in State Estimation, Real-Time Contingency Analysis, and SCADA systems. Previous roles include engineer at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, where Beau developed advanced modeling tools for renewable energy systems, and multiple positions at the University of Washington, focusing on teaching and technical writing in electrical engineering. Beau's educational credentials include a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, as well as a certificate in Advanced Chinese Studies from East China Normal University.
