Sarah Gunasekera is an experienced engineer currently working at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) as part of the Engineering Development Program since April 2022. Previous roles include serving as a Capstone Project Engineer at Post Road Foundation, where Sarah led a multidisciplinary team to develop a Python model aimed at optimizing a renewable integrated grid for cost and decarbonization. At Stanley Black & Decker, Sarah designed an automated testing environment for electric snow blowers, and earlier experience includes roles as a Resident Advisor and Teaching Assistant at The Johns Hopkins University, as well as technical contributions at TheNewNorm, where Sarah helped design a plastic recycling machine. Sarah also gained practical experience as a Project Intern at Northworks Automation, maintaining 3D printers and working on integrated prototypes. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a Master of Engineering in the same field from the University of California, Berkeley.
