Michael Kraaij has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Michael began their career in 2014 with an internship at EY. Following this, they worked as an Assistant Accountant at VANDERLAANGROEP for three years, primarily focusing on audit but also handling compilation and review assignments. In 2014, they also pursued a professional golfing career as a Professional Golfer, but despite achieving several top rankings, they decided to transition out of the sport in 2017. In 2018, they returned to EY, initially working as a Senior Staff Auditor and later promoted to Manager. As a Manager, they were responsible for overseeing multiple audits, with a specialization in renewable energy companies. Their key responsibilities included leading audit teams, managing client communication, auditing financial statements, and counseling and coaching colleagues. In 2023, they joined ERIKS Nederland as the Manager of Accounting & Reporting.
Michael Kraaij has a comprehensive education history in the field of accountancy. Michael began their academic journey by obtaining a VWO diploma from RSG Wiringherlant in 2010. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Accountancy & Control from the University of Amsterdam, completing it in 2014. During their time at the University of Amsterdam, Michael obtained additional certifications, including a Bachelor's degree in Economie & Bedrijfskunde variant Accountancy & Control in 2013. Recently, from 2018 to 2020, Michael completed a Post-Master program in Accountancy at the University of Amsterdam.
