Andrew Van Valer has held a variety of roles in the tech and business sectors since 2005. In 2005, they became a Board Member of Elephant Nature Park USA, a US non-profit dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating elephants in Northern Thailand. In 2010, they co-founded Fortoa, a video series designed to help new business owners, and in 2011 they became a Board Member of Think Local First, County of Santa Cruz. In 2014, they became Partner and Adviser at Santa Cruz Waves, Founder of SlingShot SV, and CFO Executive In Residence at NextSpace Coworking + Innovation. In 2015, they became Founder and VP Strategic Partnerships at Angels by the Sea, Board Member of County of Santa Cruz Workforce Development, and Co-Publisher of Regional Small Business Monterey Bay. In 2019, they became Cofounder and Chief Operating Officer at Esaiyo Inc., a Social Identity of Objects infrastructure as a service technology company.
Andrew Van Valer attended the School of Hard Knocks from 1962 to 2008, where they earned a YES degree in Business and relationships. Andrew then attended Cabrillo College from 1979 to 1986, where they earned an AA degree in Business, Criminal Justice, English, Architecture, and Elecrical Engineering.
