John Bacheller has a diverse work experience in the field of software development and engineering. John is currently working as a Software Developer at Engineering Solutions, Inc. (ESi) since February 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Applied Insight LLC from May 2020 to August 2020, where they helped develop Altitude Enterprise Service (AES) by integrating AWS workspaces and SQLite databases into the Django backend.
Before that, John worked as a Vulnerability Research Intern at Parsons Corporation from June 2019 to August 2019. In this role, they extended the functionality of the open-source fuzzer American Fuzzy Lop (AFL) by adding features that directly benefited vulnerability researchers supporting a classified contract at the National Security Agency. This included modifying AFL to compile for Android to enable native fuzzing.
John also gained experience as a Student Intern at the Central Intelligence Agency from September 2018 to December 2018. In this position, they collected open-source information from various sources, formatted and structured data, and analyzed different sources to determine the most important pieces of data to record.
John Bacheller received a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, completing their studies from 2017 to 2020.
