Anthony Brower

Senior Security Engineer at ESO

Anthony Brower has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Anthony currently works at ESO, where they hold the position of Senior Security Engineer since April 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Security Engineer at the same company from July 2021 to May 2022.

Before joining ESO, Brower served as an IT Security Analyst at Emergency Reporting from June 2016 to July 2021. Their responsibilities in this position involved analyzing and ensuring the security of the company's IT systems.

Prior to their time at Emergency Reporting, Brower worked at the Office of the Inspector General starting in January 2007. During this tenure, they held the role of Systems Software Specialist III and also served as the agency's Information Security Officer. Their responsibilities included providing security awareness training, developing and maintaining technology recovery plans, responding to security incidents, and acting as a liaison with control agencies for technology requests. Brower worked at the Office of the Inspector General until June 2016.

Before joining the Office of the Inspector General, Brower worked at the Legislative Data Center, State of California, from February 1996 to January 2007. Here they held various roles including Information Technology Specialist I, Associate Information Systems Analyst, and Assistant Information Systems Analyst. Their responsibilities included project management for infrastructure and server upgrades, installation and configuration of equipment, and resolving telecommunication issues.

Additionally, Brower has worked at URS Consultants, Inc as an MIS Support from February 1995 to February 1996, at California ProLife Council as a Network Manager from August 1992 to August 1995, and at Alpha Ceramic Supplies, Inc as a Computer Manager and Warehouse Worker from August 1989 to October 1992.

Anthony Brower began their education journey in 1987 at California Baptist University, where they pursued a degree in Business Administration. After completing their undergraduate studies in 1989, Brower joined California State University-Sacramento from 1989 to 1992, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems.

Years later, in 2009, Brower earned several additional certifications to enhance their expertise. Anthony obtained the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA in November 2009 and the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification from Cisco in May 2009. Additionally, Brower acquired the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification from the EC-Council in September 2019.

Continuing their lifelong pursuit of knowledge and skill development, Brower enrolled at Western Governors University in 2019 and completed a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance in 2020.
