Kevin Underhill has extensive work experience in the field of emergency medical services. Kevin started their career in 1991 as a Paramedic at Alamance County EMS and later worked as a Paramedic/Field-Training Officer at Durham County Emergency Medical Services from 1994 to 2005.

In 2005, they joined Durham County EMS again and held multiple roles including Special Programs Coordinator, EMS Quality Assurance Manager, Clinical Affairs Chief, Assistant Chief of Operations, and Chief Paramedic. In these positions, they were responsible for various aspects of overseeing and managing the EMS system, including compliance with regulations, development of EMS plans, clinical reviews, quality management, staff supervision, and education.

In 2020, Kevin joined Greenville County Emergency Medical Services as the Director of Operations, where they had overall responsibility for the department's operations. Currently, they are working as an Account Manager at ESO.

Kevin Underhill obtained an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree in Emergency Medical Science from Davidson County Community College, where they studied from 2008 to 2010. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies at Excelsior University from 2017 to 2022.

In addition to their academic achievements, Kevin has obtained various certifications in the field of emergency medical services. Kevin became a Certified Ambulance Compliance Officer and a Certified Ambulance Privacy Officer from the National Academy of Ambulance Compliance in December 2018. In October 2018, they completed the Executive EMS Leadership certification offered by SafeTech Solutions LLP. Prior to this, in September 2017, they obtained the Managing Paramedic Officer certification from the NATIONAL EMS MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION. Kevin also holds the Ambulance Service Manager certification from Fitch & Associates, LLC, which they obtained in November 2016. In terms of instructional certifications, they earned the National Instructor - Field-Training and Evaluation Program (FTEP) certification from the National Association of EMS Management in 2015.

Furthermore, Kevin completed a course on EMS Administration and Disaster Management at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in April 2011. Kevin has also acquired an Advanced Infection Control Officer certification from Infection Control Emerging Concepts, Inc., although the details of when and where they obtained this certification are not specified.
