Xilo Chavez

Xilo Chavez currently serves as the Director of X Studio and Career Pathways Internship Manager at Explora Science Center and Children's Museum since June 2022. With a robust background in education and social work, Xilo holds a Master of Social Work from Western New Mexico University, and has held various significant roles including Senior Learning Designer at eSpark Learning since February 2019, and Psychotherapy Intern at Southwest Family Guidance Center & Institute in 2022. Previous experience includes positions as Instructional Coach at Santa Ana Unified School District, Teacher Leader and Trainer at California Reading and Literature Project, Primary Literacy Promoter with the Peace Corps, Founding Teacher at Advanced Learning Academy, and 4th and 6th Grade Teacher at Jim Thorpe Fundamental School and Willard Intermediate School, respectively. Xilo also directed youth programs at Corpus Christi Catholic Church and possesses multiple degrees, including a Master of Arts in Education from Brandman University and a Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Development.
