Cristina Escobar began their work experience in 2006 at Break the Cycle, where they held various roles including Executive Assistant and Communications & Outreach Coordinator. Cristina later became the Director of Loveisrespect & Deputy Director and then the Community Relations Manager. In 2014, they joined The Representation Project as the Director of Communications. In 2018, Cristina founded Latina Media, a platform aimed at increasing Latinas' representation in film and television. Cristina also started their consulting business, Cristina Escobar Andrade Consulting, where they worked with feminist organizations on communication strategies. In 2020, they became the Director of Communications at Esperanza United, an organization dedicated to ending gender-based violence in Latin@ communities.
Cristina Escobar completed their Bachelor's degree in English and Spanish at Occidental College from 2002 to 2006. Later, they pursued a Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership and Management at Austin Community College, which they obtained in 2013.
