Andres Rigail is a highly experienced professional currently serving as a Full Professor and Director of the Plastics Processing Laboratory at ESPOL. With over two decades of academic involvement, Andres coordinates various technical education programs in plastics and delivers postgraduate courses in polymer characterization and manufacturing processes. As the Associate Dean of the Mechanical Engineering and Production Science Faculty, Andres has made significant contributions to material science education and career development in plastics technology. Recent projects include directing a project focused on developing roofing tiles from recycled rubber compounds and consulting on recycling practices in Ecuador. Andres holds a Doctorate in Plastics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, an MBA in Project Management from UQAM, and a Master’s in Polymer Science from the University of Connecticut, along with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral.
