P.eng. Rimaz Abakar

Rimaz Abakar, P.Eng. is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in process engineering and environmental support. Currently serving as a Process Engineering Specialist in Ironmaking at Algoma Steel Inc. since May 2015, Rimaz has previously held roles in reheat furnaces, strip mill processes, and has contributed as a Chemical Engineering Intern. Prior experience includes providing environmental support at NOVA Chemicals, preparing permit packages and environmental plans. Education includes a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering from Lakehead University and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa, complemented by research assistant and mentoring roles during academic pursuits.
