Rishi Sud M.D.

Rishi Sud, MD, MBA has a diverse and extensive work experience. Rishi currently serves as the Chief Medical Officer at Esse Health, where they attend meetings, chairs the Clinical Council, and oversees the Care Management Team. Rishi joined Esse Health in 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Physician Surveyor at NCQA from 2016 to 2023. From 2014 to 2017, they served as the Chief Medical Officer at HealthLinc Community Health Center, leading the attainment of NCQA PCMH Level 3 at all sites. Before that, they held various positions at Humana, including Physician Leader for the Enterprise EMR/Clinical Content Team and Area Medical Director for Primary Care. Rishi started their career as a Medical Director at UFCW Local 1546 and has also worked as a Physician Trainer at KSJ & Associates, Inc. Rishi held physician roles at St. John Health Center, Franciscan Alliance, Inc., and Franciscan Saint Anthony Hospital, Crown Point. Lastly, they served as a General Medical Officer in the United States Army Reserve, providing healthcare support to military personnel and local nationals during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Rishi Sud, MD, MBA has a diverse education history. In 1989, they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (honors) from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Rishi then pursued their medical education at the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin U-Med & Science, earning their MD degree from 1993 to 1998.

Dr. Sud's interest in healthcare management led him to attend the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 2016, where they completed the Healthcare Executive Program. To further enhance their business acumen, they enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at Washington University in St. Louis - Olin Business School from 2018 to 2020.
