Colin Brown

Colin Brown has a long and successful career in the pharmaceutical industry. Colin began their career in 1984 as a Pharmaceutical Development Scientist at Syntex Pharmaceuticals Ltd. In 1995, they joined Quintiles as a Scientist in Pharmaceutical Sciences. In 1997, they moved to The Mentholatum Company (UK) Ltd as Research & Development Manager, where they were responsible for all aspects of product development and registration. In 2000, they were promoted to Associate Director of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Quintiles, where they were responsible for the commercial production operations of manufacture, packing and engineering of pharmaceuticals. In 2005, they returned to The Mentholatum Company (UK) Ltd as Director of Research & Quality Development, where they were a company director and influential member of the leadership team responsible for the strategic direction of the overall business. In 2020, they were appointed Chief Operating Officer of Essential Pharma.

Colin Brown attended Edinburgh Napier University from 1990 to 1994, where they received a BSc Hons in Applied Chemistry. Colin has also obtained several certifications from the Royal Society of Chemistry, including Fellow Chartered Chemist of the Royal Society of Chemistry (2021), FRSC (2017), Chartered Scientist (2015), Chartered Chemist - CChem (2015), and MRSC (2015).
