Niel Malhotra has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Niel began their career as a Software Engineering Intern at Summit Brokerage Services, Inc., where they designed and created custom programs for financial data sorting and assisted in managing a $75 million account. Niel then joined Tykoon as a Software Engineering Intern, where they worked on the full stack, including front end, back end, database, and system ops work. Niel also co-founded Savvy Sync, where they served as the CTO and played a key role in the development of the company's technology.
Niel's next role was at Handy HQ as a Software Engineer, where they gained further experience in software development. Niel then joined LendKey as a Software Engineer, where they developed fintech solutions and transitioned the company to a microservices/service-oriented architecture. Niel revised and updated old code bases to modern standards, reducing operating costs and improving functionality.
In 2016, Niel joined Econify LLC as a Senior Software Developer, working as a programming consultant for clients such as Bloomberg and NBC. Niel accelerated the development of a Bloomberg Python application by simplifying the software architecture and provided guidance on best technologies to address clients' business needs.
In 2014, Niel founded Growista as an umbrella company for their various software development and marketing work. Currently, it serves as a holding company.
Most recently, Niel joined Essex, an Emmes Company, as a Senior Software Engineer in 2023.
Niel Malhotra completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from New York University, attending from 2007 to 2012. In addition, they obtained a certification in the Sales Engineer Training Program from Mission Bay Courses in January 2023.
