John van Rooy

John (Yahya) Van Rooy is an accomplished educational leader with a diverse background in Islamic pedagogy and community relations, currently serving as the Lead of Islamic Pedagogy & Community Relations and Elementary School Principal at Next Generation School since June 2021. With a strong focus on community development, John holds the position of Director of Community Development at the Islamic Schools League of America since November 2020 and is an Educational Consultant at Eternal Sparks Consulting since May 2024. Previous experience includes roles such as Academic Coordinator at Jeddah Private International School, Academic Supervisor & Curriculum Consultant, and English Language Instructor at various institutions. John earned a Master of Education in International Education from Van Loan School at Endicott College and a Bachelor of Arts in Peace Studies/Spanish from College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University, complemented by international experiences in teaching and volunteer coordination.
