Brian Chapman

Brian Chapman has extensive work experience in the telecommunications industry, spanning over three decades. Brian currently holds the role of Principal Engineer (Network Applications Software Team Lead) at Etherstack. Prior to this, they worked at Intrado as a Senior Software Developer, where they focused on enhancing and supporting interactive voice response (IVR) products. Before that, they held multiple roles at Cyara, including Product Owner - Voice / Senior Software Engineer and Roadmap Development Manager/ Senior Software Engineer. At Cyara, they played a key role in translating customer feature requests into functionality for cloud-based and on-premise products.

Brian also has experience as the VoIP Development Team Leader at IR, leading high-profile projects with Avaya Call Management Systems. Before that, they worked as a Development Team Lead at Open Telecommunications, specializing in VoIP call switching and intelligent networking. Brian began their career as a Senior Software Engineer at Alcatel Australia, focusing on intelligent network and network management systems for major Australian telecommunications companies. Brian also worked as an IT Contractor at Linklaters and Paines and started their career as a Junior Software Engineer at Telstra.

Throughout their career, Brian has demonstrated expertise in software development, product ownership, project management, and team leadership. Brian has been involved in the design and development of various telecommunications solutions and has a strong track record of delivering innovative products and services.

Brian Chapman obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Sydney, from 1987 to 1991. Brian also obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mathematics and Computer Science from the same university, from 1987 to 1989. In addition to their degrees, Brian also holds certifications as a Certified Scrum Product Owner® (CSPO®) obtained in May 2015, and as a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) obtained in May 2010, both from the Scrum Alliance.
