Crystal Sun has extensive work experience in the field of sustainability and energy efficiency. Crystal currently holds the role of Sustainability Data Lead at Ethic, where they are responsible for managing and analyzing sustainability data. Prior to this, they served as a Sustainability Data Associate at the same company.

Before joining Ethic, Crystal worked at Con Edison as a Senior Strategy Analyst, focusing on energy efficiency strategy and planning. Crystal played a key role in expanding the company's influence in the energy efficiency market, conducting research on new business models and technologies. Crystal also evaluated program performance and implemented change management initiatives.

Crystal's career also includes a role as an Energy Analyst at Bright Power, Inc. Here, they managed real estate portfolios and provided data-driven insights to clients regarding sustainability and efficiency investments. Additionally, they had responsibilities in navigating the real estate, municipal government, and utility industries to streamline energy management practices.

Earlier in their career, Crystal worked as a Climate Action Plan Financial Analyst at the University of California, Berkeley, where they projected future costs and recommended investments for the university's climate mitigation initiatives. Crystal also served as a Graduate Student Instructor during their time at UC Berkeley.

Crystal's experience also includes engineering internships at kW Engineering and a marketing internship at CoolClimate Network. Crystal has demonstrated their ability to optimize outreach efforts through various channels and engage communities in sustainable behaviors.

Furthermore, Crystal has a background in research, having worked as an intern at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and as an undergraduate researcher at UC Berkeley.

Crystal Sun received their Master's Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2013 to 2014. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Environmental Science, Energy and Resources from the same university from 2009 to 2013. Crystal Sun completed their high school education at the Charter School of Wilmington from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, they hold several certifications including a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) from the Association of Energy Engineers, a Multifamily Building Analyst Professional from the Building Performance Institute, Inc., and an Engineering and Business for Sustainability Certificate from UC Berkeley.
