Steve Waldschmidt

Steve Waldschmidt has a strong background in risk management and analytics. Steve is currently the Director of Merchant Reporting and Analytics at Ethoca since 2015. Prior to this, they worked at PayPal as a Senior Manager in Decision Management from 2007 to 2015, where they were responsible for creating statistical models and strategies to assess fraud and credit risk for PayPal merchants worldwide. Before that, they were a Senior Analytic Consultant at Austin Logistics from 2006 to 2007, where they built logistic regression models and optimization strategies for various merchants and banks. From 2003 to 2006, they worked at ClearCommerce/eFunds as a Senior Risk Management Analyst, where they developed fraud prevention models and presented at industry conferences. Steve's work experience also includes being a Senior Analyst/Project Manager at Trajecta/HNC Software/FICO from 1996 to 2003, where they led the research and implementation of a new service product for the credit card industry.

Steve Waldschmidt holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Steve also has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Physics from the University of California, Davis. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate education at Lake Forest College, earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Physics and Mathematics.
