Paul Laughter has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Paul started their career as a Co-Founder and Music Artist Manager at Slick Winston Management, where they worked from 1996 to 2000. Paul then worked as a Master Control Operator at WWAY-TV, LLC from 2001 to 2002, and as a Producer at AnimEigo from 2001 to 2004. Following this, Paul served as an On Air Announcer and Board Operator for WAAV 980 AM Radio at Cumulus Media from 2004 to 2005. Paul also worked as a Web Developer at Click2BInd from 2004 to 2005, and as a Board of Directors member at the Florida Federation of Fairs and Livestock Shows from 2015 to 2017.
In 2006, Paul joined Etix as a Sales and Account Manager. In this role, they were responsible for deal-making, relationship management, and business development. Paul specialized in providing ticketing solutions for various venues and events, including fairs, festivals, and more. Their job often involved consulting and planning large and complex event access control scenarios.
Paul also took on various entrepreneurial ventures. In 2015, they became a Co-Founder of Pass the Gravy, a company that sourced products made in North Carolina and donated a portion of its earnings to the North Carolina Partnership for Children. Paul also served as a Partner at Hopscotch Music Festival from 2015 to 2018, overseeing the production of the annual music festival.
More recently, Paul became a member of the Board of Directors at Shop Local Raleigh - Greater Raleigh Merchants Association in 2017. Paul joined the board to share their experiences as an entrepreneur and support local business owners in their community.
Paul Laughter obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Paul double majored in Radio, Television, and Motion Pictures, as well as Geography, from 1991 to 1995.
After completing their undergraduate studies, Paul attended Cape Fear Community College from 2001 to 2004. Although they did not earn a degree during this time, they pursued studies in Computer Engineering Technology.
In addition to their formal education, Paul obtained a Certificate of Computer Engineering - Web Development from Cape Fear Community College in May 2004. Paul also received a certification as a Certified Crowd Manager - Management Staff from the North Carolina Department of Insurance in April 2019.
