Joël Mossong is an experienced epidemiologist currently serving at the Luxembourg Health Directorate since June 2020 and simultaneously as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Luxembourg since November 2022, focusing on quantitative biomedicine, public health, and microbiology. Joël has held significant roles at the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) as National Focal Point for Public Health Training and previously contributed as National Microbiology Focal Point for Luxembourg. Other notable positions include head of epidemiology and microbial genomics at the Laboratoire national de santé and senior epidemiologist at the Africa Centre for Health and Population Studies. Joël holds advanced degrees in Biological Sciences, Interdisciplinary Mathematics, and Mathematics from the University of Warwick and University of Bristol, complemented by a strong foundation in biostatistics from the Luxembourg Institute of Health.
